    Re: Samba line dance

    Hi

Alberta Dancesport does offer a group class on the Samba line dance from time to time.  It's a very easy and fun "dance" to learn and after a few times of joining in when you see people doing the line dance you should be able to pick it up.  The line dance is an amalgamation of basic samba dance figures that are repeated though out an entire song.  It was designed as a practice tool which became very popular.  There have been many attempts at creating new versions or introducing new versions to the dance community but the version you've seen danced perhaps at the Friday night socials at the VRRI or at other dances around town is the most popular and the one that has stuck with the crowd.

So try picking it up when the line dance is being danced, which is how many people learn the line dance and/or keep a look out for a drop in group class put on by Alberta Dancesport.

    Cheers
    And happy dancing.

Dancing with the feet is one thing, but dancing with the heart is another. Dance to express, not impress. Get your groove on!
